One of the biggest thrills you can witness is the coordinated hunting strategy performed by our local bottlenose dolphins in what is called “strand feeding”.

The waters around Hilton Head Island are one of the few places on Earth where at low tide, dolphins will herd schools of fish back into our tidal creeks and then in a grand synchronized rush, they will create a wall of water as they push the schools of fish up onto the mud banks.

Lying on their side, the dolphins will feed on the stranded fish before sliding back into the water.
